We’re joining our friends at CRD Parks for a fun day of learning!

Central Saanich, Island View Beach Regional Park
Celebrate life on the beach at this drop-in event with CRD Regional Parks naturalists, cultural programmer and special guest organizations. There will be games, crafts, activities and more to help you make connections with the creatures that call this beach home. Join a guided walk featuring Indigenous Perspectives and learn how you can be a caretaker of this precious place for future generations.
Meeting place: Drop by anytime between 10am and 1pm. Meet at the grassy area adjacent to the picnic shelter off Homathko Drive.
Dock Wonders Camp!

Campers will explore marine life on and around the docks!
Using observation skills, field guides and a plankton tow, participants will discover birds, mammals and invertebrates (large and microscopic!). Collected plankton samples will be studied under microscopes back at the Centre.
*This camp includes a take-home laminated field guide of local species (Retail: $11.00).
This camp does not include exploring time within the Centre.
Campers are required to wear a life jacket while on the docks; life jackets provided but campers are welcome to bring their own.

Plant and animal life, both inside and outside the Centre, will be observed and recorded through different drawing and art techniques.
